While the year 2020 came to a close (good riddance) we can look forward to 2021. For most people this year was filled with angst, doubt and maybe even tragedy. Although the fatality total was lower in Myanmar than in most other countries due to Covid, this didn’t stop the country from shutting down. In fact all schools in the country have been shut down since last August. Construction has been sporadic on building new schools as it was also shut down for some time. During shutdown times the construction workers for new schools were busy distributing rice and oil to villagers, always finding ways to contribute.
Our Computer Lab initiative is still new and we are focusing on getting more donations. We have had some very generous single donations and recurring donations as well. As of now we have about 20% of the funding required for one computer lab. Hopefully 2021 will bring better returns for our project and for the rest of the world in general. With travel restrictions strictly enforced we weren’t able to travel to Myanmar. We are hoping this also changes next year.
